This letter was published on October 19 in the Winston-Salem Journal....
I am asking that you consider voting for A.L. (Buddy) Collins for Forsyth County Commissioner. It has been a pleasure to have known Buddy his entire life. As his sister, I have watched him grow from a little boy interested in how everything worked in the world to a husband, father and grandfather always looking for ways to be of service to his family and to the community.

Buddy has served sixteen years as a school board member, five years as a member of the Board of Trustees of Forsyth Technical Community College, five years as the Vice Chair for the State Board of Education along with continuing to be actively involved in his law practice in Kernersville. He agrees with Theodore Roosevelt in that he feels that the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
Given the opportunity, I know that Buddy will continue to work at improving our schools, growing our economy, keeping our citizens and the community safe and restoring fiscal responsibility and alignment to the county government to fund the priorities of the taxpayers.
Hopefully, you will give Buddy an opportunity to discuss how to resolve your concerns while working to bring our community together and find real solutions to the challenges we face.
Our current at-large Forsyth County Commissioner was initially elected in 2006. This year we definitely need a new face in this seat. Vote for A.L. (Buddy) Collins for Forsyth County Commissioner.
