Mike took me to Mrs. Balin's Christmas dance. I was so happy to be his date! I still have the pictures of us taken that night. I was so sad later to hear of his death.
I saw Mike more after graduation, as my husband was in a band and played at the nightclub he ran in the basement of his parents' restaurant. Still remember when I saw the obituary in the newspaper and thinking he was too young, too vibrant, too full of life to be gone. He was such a nice person when at RJR- will always remember him that way.
On April 13th, 1968, as a passenger in a motor vehicle, 24 year old Mike Zimmerman died in an automobile accident in Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. (if anyone has more details, please add them to this site)
