ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — Mr. Carter West, 71, of Rockingham, and formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. He was born July 29, 1944 in Richmond, Virginia, son of the late M.D. and Irene Franklin West.
Mr. West attended Guilford College. He was a retired corporate pilot, having flown for Krispy Kreme and Martin Processing. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.
Mr. West is survived by his wife, Iris Baldwin West; a sister, Cabell Fowler (Fred) of Winston-Salem; and nephews, Omnia Fowler (Jennifer), West Fowler (Jennifer) and Bradley Fowler (Katie), all of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted with military honors 11 a.m. Wednesday in the mausoleum of Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham with the Rev. Joel Perry officiating.
