We have just learned that our valued classmate, Glenda Louise Baker Whitfield recently passed away.  Below is Glenda's obituary.  If anyone can contribute more information, we would appreciate it.  


Ms. Glenda Louise Baker Whitfield, 81, of Alpharetta, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at her home. Ms. Whitfield was born in Royston, GA on December 18, 1944, daughter of the late Happy Jack Whitfield and the late Cornell Baker Whitfield Clamp. She was a daycare teacher having worked for Brazil’s in Athens and was also a member of the DAR- Patriots of Liberty in Alpharetta. Survivors include her daughters, Charmane Harbert (Marvin) of Alpharetta, GA and Sharon Whitfield of Wilmington, NC; son, Jim-Paul Adams of Watkinsville, GA; sister, Mary Ann Herndon of Elberton, GA; brother, Jim Dickson White (Julie) of Anderson, SC; and grandchildren, Charity May, Dalton May, Elizabeth Anne Thibodeaux, Patrick Ian Whitfield, Brendan Sean Whitfield and Calvin Isreal Crosier. A graveside service for Ms. Whitfield will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until funeral hour on Sunday afternoon. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
